Beaches in Halland
Halland is Sweden's beach county: long, shallow, sandy and west-facing, with water that warms faster than anywhere else on the west coast.
The prevailing south-westerlies pile sand into wide, gently shelving beaches — safe for children at one end of the scale, and good enough for surfing at the other. Most beaches have Blue Flag-level water quality in season.
Southern Halland has the endless sand (Mellbystrand–Skummeslöv is one 12 km strand). Mid-Halland mixes sand with rocky coves. Around Varberg the coast turns to surf and cold-bath culture.
