Destinations in Halland

Six towns, a string of fishing villages and beach resorts, and a quiet forested inland — Halland packs a lot of variety into 190 km of coast.

Halland runs along Sweden's west coast between Gothenburg and Skåne. The E6 motorway and the coastal railway connect its main towns in under an hour end to end, which makes it easy to base yourself in one place and day-trip to the rest.

Start with the three coastal towns — Halmstad for city life and beaches, Varberg for the fortress and cold-bath culture, Falkenberg for food and the Ätran river — then branch out to the villages.
